Installing the Warp VR app on a Meta Quest headset is easy:

Take your Quest headset and navigate to the Store.
Search for Warp VR (⚠️ please make sure to write the full name, not only Warp).
Click on the Warp VR app and click Install.

🌐 Install the Warp VR app online or via the Meta Horizon app on your smartphone

You can also install the app via the Meta Horizon app on your smartphone:

Visit https://www.meta.com/en-gb/experiences/warp-vr/5018733758196696/ or search for Warp VR in your mobile Meta Horizon app.
Click Install.
The Warp VR app can now be found on your home screen in the Quest. Open the app, sign in and you are ready to go. ✅

💼 Install the Warp VR app on a Quest for Business headset

In case you have purchased a Quest headset through the Quest for Business program, installation of the Warp VR app is a little different. In this case, you should look up the organization key and send it to us:

Click on Organization settings in the left menu of the Admin Center

🤿 Pico headsets

🕶 Install the Warp VR app on your VR headset

Installing the Warp VR app on a Pico headset is easy:

Take your Pico VR headset and navigate to the Pico Store.
For Pico G2 headsets - search Warp VR (Legacy version). For all other Pico headsets - search Warp VR.
Click Install.
The app can now be found on your home screen.

🔄 Sideloading on Pico (expert users only)

Sideloading allows you to install the app from an APK file. 👉 In general, we recommend this procedure only to expert users who know what they are doing and to users that have a real need to install the app this way. For most users, the best approach is to always install the app from the Pico store, where we always provide the latest available version.

⛓️ Flow editor

The flow editor is the page where you create your scenario. It is the canvas where you create scenes, add elements to these scenes and link them. You can easily set the order in which the scenario will flow, as well as all the scene details. Every scenario has one starting point and one or more endings. 🪢

To access the flow editor for a certain scenario, navigate to the Scenarios tab in the top left and click on the scenario.

🖼️ Canvas

The canvas represents the full scenario with all of its connected scenes. To create a new scene, double click anywhere on the empty canvas. The first added scene will always be the start scene of your scenario, which can be changed at any time later. To move the scenes around the canvas, click-and-drag each scene to the desired position.

On the right side in the flow editor you can see the sidebar. It is always there providing information for each scene, such as: used elements, filming details, media and testing. Click on a scene to see the scene details, or hold SHIFT to select multiple scenes.

The flow editor navigation offers a couple of options:

To scroll through the canvas, click-and-drag the canvas screen.
To select multiple scenes, hold SHIFT and select scenes.

🎨 Scenes

A scene is a video (situation) where something specific happens and the trainee has to make a decision to proceed to the next scene. 🤓 Every scene has a title, description and contains an immersive video. Additionally, every scene can contain one or multiple elements.

🖌️ Elements

Elements make scenarios engaging and educational for trainees. There are 2 types of elements:

Interactive
Static

Interactive elements can be linked to other scenes. This means that once the trainee clicks on this element, it will take them to the next scene. Interactive elements you can choose from:

Multiple choice - a combination of a tooltip with one or more buttons positioned next to the tooltip.
Information - a combination of a tooltip with one button positioned below the tooltip.
Direction - an arrow to guide trainees to a different environment.
Hotspot - comes in different sizes and can be used to get to know objects or areas in a 360 video.
Button - a simple button to be used in any way.
Timer - can be used to force trainees to make an answer within a certain amount of time.
Auto-transition - not a visible element, but will automatically transfer to another scene once the video ends, without the trainee clicking anything.

⬇️ Create a filming schedule

In order to easily film your script with a 360 camera, you can create and print a filming schedule.

🗺 Add filming locations to scenes

Make sure every scene has the right filming location:

Select the scene you'd like to appoint a filming location to.
In the Flow sidebar within the Filming tab, add and assign the location.
If the filming location doesn't exist, you can add it directly from the dropdown. You can also set whether a scene needs filming or not. Maybe a scene could use a video from another scene, so there is no need to film twice.

🔢 Create a filming schedule

In order to create a filming schedule, navigate to the Filming tab in the main scenario menu. Here you can drag and drop scenes to change the order.

You can also assign filming locations to specific scenes. In case a scene does not need filming, you can switch off the ‘Does scene need filming?’ option. You can still add a location to make it easier for yourself to organize all the scenes.

There is also an option to group scenes by filming location. Go to the Group by filter and select Group by Filming location

🧬 Transcode videos

To provide trainees with the best viewing experience, Warp Studio creates different video formats for all supported devices. Our transcoder uses a quality based variable bitrate (QVBR) algorithm that dynamically varies the bitrate to maintain a constant quality level. We've configured the quality level at 9 out of 10, where 10 is considered near lossless. 💎

📱 Smartphone and tablet

For smartphone and tablet we use two variations: normal (2K) and high (4K). We don’t support stereoscopic videos on these devices.

Normal: H.264 - 1920 x 960 pixels (2K)
High: H.264 - 3840 x 1920 pixels (4K)

🤿 VR headsets

In VR we can use either 5K monoscopic or 4K stereoscopic display, depending on the video you upload. Monoscopic videos show the same video for both eyes. Stereoscopic videos show a slightly different video for each eye to create a more 3D like experience.

Monoscopic: H.265 - 5120 x 2560 pixels (5K)
Stereoscopic: H.265 - 3840 x 3840 pixels (4K)

⚙️ Recommended transcoding settings for 360˚ videos

Warp Studio supports monoscopic and stereoscopic 360˚ videos with stereo audio.
