👥 Sign-in mode for shared devices
🌈 Types of sign-in modes
When a device is registered as a shared device, we offer different sign-in modes:
Trainee sign-in
Group sign-in
Anonymous sign-in
👤 Trainee sign-in
When a headset is set up in trainee sign-in mode, trainees can sign in with their personal 6-digit code. You can hide the Delete download button on the scenario screen, to prevent trainees deleting scenarios from your device. After sign-in, trainees can be play all scenarios offline.
👥 Group sign-in
When you select 'Group sign-in' and link a group to the shared device, the trainees that are part of that group will be listed in the shared device. When a trainee picks up the shared device, they only have to select their name to see the scenarios and courses that are linked to the group.
It’s also possible to link multiple groups to one shared device. In this case a selection option is shown inside the device to select the right group.
If a trainee is ready with playing on a shared device, they can click on “Switch user”, which will take them back to the list of all trainees. From here a new trainee can easily select their name. ✅
You can also hide Delete download button on the scenario screen and automatically sign out trainees when the device goes to sleep (only for VR headsets).
😶🌫️ Anonymous sign-in
When sign-in mode is set to 'Anonymous sign-in', a device always stays signed in as an anonymous trainee. Trainees can simply pick up the device and directly start playing. There is no sign-out option as well.
Same as the group sign-in mode, you have to select a group and you can hide the Delete download button on the scenario screen.
❓ How to set a sign-in mode
In the Shared devices tab under the Trainees page, select the three dots 🚥 next to the device name, and click Edit device. Here you can set the sign-in mode and select some specific settings such as:
The sign-in mode to trainee, group or anonymous.
Hide the Delete download button on the scenario screen.
In group sign-in mode, sign out trainees when a device goes to sleep (only for VR headsets).
You can edit multiple devices at once by selecting the checkboxes ✅ left of the devices names. Click the three dots 🚥 at the bottom of the screen, and select Edit shared devices.
