⭐️ Scoring and data analysis

In this article:

  1. Setup scoring system
  2. Assign points
  3. Analysis

When a trainee reaches the end of a scenario, they will see feedback and the amount of stars they have received. ✨ Points can be added or subtracted for wrong or right answers, depending on your training purposes and the scoring system you've selected. How many points and stars a trainee can win or lose in total by the end of a scenario is up to you.

🧮 Set the scoring system

In the Settings tab within the scenario, click on Scoring, where you’ll see both the scoring and ending settings.

You can choose from the following scoring systems:

  • Subtract points - Start with 5 stars and subtract points for each wrong answer.
  • Add points - Start with 1 star and give points for each right answer.
  • No points - The scoring system is disabled, no stars or points will be used.

There are also feedback fields for each star that can be modified. 💬 In case you've set the scoring settings to No points, there is only one ending text the trainee will see every time they reach the ending.

🔢 Assign points

To assign points, select a scene and click the star icon ⭐️ next to the answer that should have points assigned.

You can choose 0, 1 or 2 points, or decide a custom score.

  • When the scoring system is set to Subtract points, 2 points will be shown as a red line.
  • When the scoring system is set to Add points, 2 points will show as a green line.
  • Answers that score 1 point are always yellow.
  • Custom scores are always shown as blue lines.

📊 Training analytics

Understanding and analyzing data from a training scenario is crucial for enhancing the efficacy of such programs, by addressing questions such as:

  • Did the VR training achieve its intended objectives?
  • What improvements can be made to the VR training?
  • Were there any participants who found it difficult to complete the VR training?
  • How do participants' performances evolve with time?
  • What other insights can be gleaned from the training data?

The data collected in VR training scenarios provides authentic behavioural insights, reflecting how participants are likely to respond in real-world situations 90% of the time. This is particularly evident during their initial session, when reactions are most influenced by instinctive emotional responses.

Warp Studio contains a detailed analytics page which offers a general training overview for all or certain trainings, over a specific period of time, as well as the training data for each trainee separately, such as stars won, time of playing, choices and mistakes made, etc.

Any data can be exported into a TSV file for different purposes, within the Training attempts tab.

👉 Check this page if you'd like to learn more about analysis for different use cases, as well as how to utilise analytics effectively in order to enhance the learning experience.
